A Message from the President
"We're Off and Running"
Welcome to another year of making a difference in the lives of children. Because of your dedication and contagious enthusiasm, A+ Tutor U is highly respected for our quality of work throughout the state of Florida. Each year, our program takes on more challenges as we constantly seek new ways to make your job easier and more exciting.
In the 38 school districts we serve, the Student Learning Plan (SLP) process went well and I am happy to announce that our company may have set a record for the number of school-based tutoring programs that started on or before October 15th. We are constantly evaluating staff and performance and this year, added a new position of Specialist. As the year goes along, we will talk more about the impact of this new venture.
While our primary responsibility lies in the classrooms all over the state of Florida, we are always engaging in activities on a broader scale. I have the privilege of serving on the State Advisory Board and our own Director of Education, Dr. Woodruff, serves on the State Task Force for SLP Development. Both of us are here to serve and support you.
Have a great year, bring back success stories, and the children will be forever indebted to all of us. LET THE TUTORING BEGIN!
A+ Tutor U Launches First Edition of Newsletter, the CIA
This month marks the launch of the very first issue of the CIA - the newsletter for Florida's premier tutoring resource, A+ Tutor U!
The purpose of this monthly A+ Tutor U newsletter is to keep all stakeholders of A+ Tutor U involved and abreast of the workings of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (CIA). A+ Tutor U has embarked on a worthy endeavor that is intended to change the landscape of literacy in America. Our tutors are carefully selected based on their passion and expertise in reaching struggling learners. From time to time, the newsletter will address instructional strategies, updates on Progress Reports, maintaining a teacher/pupil ratio of one to 5, Completion Ceremonies, plus other topics of interest.
Readers may have interesting stories or activities that they have tried and would like to share. Questions, ideas, photos or suggestions may be directed to Dr. Minnie B. Woodruff at mbwoodruff@bellsouth.net or 321 460-2318. Input is valued and welcome from all friends of A+ Tutor U.
